HearMeFeelMe
Compensating for eyesight with mobile technologyVision impairments are inevitable results of growing old. Physiology of our eyes changes with time when the eye tissues loose their flexibility and suffer from damages caused by everyday life, different health conditions (such as diabetes or blood pressure) and gravity.
The HearMeFeelMe project explores the possibilities of compensating decline in eyesight with mobile technology - HearMe for replacing visual and textual information with audio, and FeelMe for using touch-based interfaces for accessing information.
The project is organized around two scenarios that deal with (1) medication, and (2) food items.
HearMeFeelMe is a two year project starting 1st of May 2009. It is organized as an AAL-project and funded by jointly by the participating organizations and EU, DGDSI-MITYC and the ISCIII in Spain, TEKES in Finland, and Greek General Secretariat for R&T.
