Interface file output generation

I am using the multi-physics interface in serpent version 2.1.29.
I have been working mostly with the type 1 interface to be used in a coupling problem. The input interface file seems to be read correctly, but when the output flag and file name are given in the interface file for pin power calculation, the specified output is not generated.
The same behaviour is seen when running the example listed here:
Is there a difference in how this works in this version of Serpent?

this is actually due to the way Serpent tries to figure out the zones to produce output from. See here:

Output is only given for pin-structures surrounded by the interface material, which means that interfaces for the fuel material do not give any output. The easiest way to get output is to also define an interface for the coolant material.

That was part of the problem, thanks.

We also had an issue with how the pins were defined in our own input file using a coolant interface (not the example) that stemmed from having nested universes. It seems that Serpent wasn't able to figure out the enclosing zone structure when the fuel and clad were separate cells and pins were defined using the fill command, as illustrated below

Once we simplified the input structure of the pins, the correct output file was generated.
