Prompt Gamma Heating

I am trying to determine the energy deposited in a system by prompt gammas from fission and the gammas resulting from radiative capture reactions. I was planning on using a -12 analog photon heating tally. However, does the -12 reaction number encompass both of these gammas, or simply the gammas born from neutron induced reactions? If this second statement is the case, does Serpent have a way of determining the energy deposited by prompt gamma rays besides lumping them into the approximate Q-value of 202.379 MeV/fission? Thank you in advance!

-12 should include all gammas that are being tracked.

In coupled neutron-gamma simulations (set ngamma 1) photons from neutron induced reactions are produced as the primary gamma source.

Neutron induced reactions include radiative capture (n,gamma)/MT102 and fission. Basically, the photon product cross sections and yields from the neutron ACE-data are used directly for sampling the secondary photons.

Coupled neutron-gamma simulations do not include delayed gammas from fission (emitted from decay of fission products) or from neutron capture (emitted from decay of transmutation products).
