Re: "Out of memory error (limit set to 0.0Gb)" with "PWR_BURNUP"

Finally, I got it ! I checked the evolution of MemFree, in /proc/meminfo, and I saw that at the moment MemFree was nearly equal to 0.0kB (really low value), Serpent aborts the run, effectively outputting this 0.0Gb It seems that when there is - really - not enough memory, Serpent aborts with a avail...

Re: "Out of memory error (limit set to 0.0Gb)" with "PWR_BURNUP"

Is there a specific place to add the "set availmem <mem>" entry ? When I add a "set availmem 1.0" entry as the first line, I got the same error (limit set to 0.0Gb). But when I add "set availmem 1.0" and comment all entries related to evolution (like in my previous post), Serpent also aborts with th...

Re: "Out of memory error (limit set to 0.0Gb)" with "PWR_BURNUP"

While I searched before posting, I just found this (recent) post :

There is a link, but KERKAR has his memory limit to 3.9Gb, which is the main problem in my case ...

"Out of memory error (limit set to 0.0Gb)" with "PWR_BURNUP"

Dear Jaakko, I a meeting difficulties with Serpent 1.1.14 to run the default PWR_BURNUP test case (with only slight modification to adapt the various paths for libraries). The error given, as said in the title, is : Fatal error in function ReallocMem: Out of memory error (limit set to 0.0Gb) Simulat...

Re: Serpent on Windows via Cygwin

Jaakko, Don't worry about me, as it is not at all a priority for me. I work most of the time in a Linux environment. It would be great for people not familiar with Linux to have the possibility to work under Windows, like I had with Dragon the first time I used it, but it is not necessary at all. Vi...

Re: Serpent on Windows via Cygwin

I nearly forgot to add that :
I also tried to compile with -O0 instead of -O3 (as I used to encounter problems with another code, that I could only compile on -O1), but I didn't meet more success.

Re: Serpent on Windows via Cygwin

Jaakko, I retried to use Serpent on Cygwin. This time, I used the version 1.1.14 of Serpent. I started from the same point (Removed compilation and linking of broadcrosssection.c in makefile, Removed call to broadcrossection in dopplerbroad.c, Used "CFLAGS += -DNO_GFX_MODE"). I did try the input on ...

Re: Serpent on Windows via Cygwin

Jaakko, I tried unsuccessfully to run Serpent under Cygwin, out of curiosity. For that, I did this : - Removed compilation and linking of broadcrosssection.c in makefile. - Removed call to broadcrossection in dopplerbroad.c. - Followed recommendation of readme for removing GD library calls (I could ...
