Sorry for confusion, I said it wrong.

I remembered that it was about material names but actually it was the pin names.
So with the same material I meant that all the pins in lattice have the same name.

Have you properly defined the materials you are burning?

I once noticed that if I have all the pins in assembly of the same material, the whole assembly seems to vanish after few burnupsteps.

MPI loses the error information

Hello ! I think this is not really a bug or even a Serpent issue but might be nice to know anyway. I was doing some test calculations and increased neutron population to the limits and beyond. At some point with -mpi option I got an error message (due to run out of memory?) witch was not very inform...

Hi! Here's some info of the machine Intel Core2 quad Q6600 @ 2.4GHz (Dell Optiplex 755) gcc version 4.5.2 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.5.2-8ubuntu4) And also I did some googling and found from some OpenMP pages (the introduction part) something that might mean there could be some performance issues in openmp.
