Re: Serpent 2 scalability benchmark

Hello, in the framework of a M&C2021 paper, I m comparing the performance of MCNP and SERPENT for single statepoint (no depletion) 2D burnt assembly calculations (large number of isotopes but low number of detectors). I m using Serpent v2.1.29. I have access to a cluster allowing for up to ~352 cpus...

Re: sensitivity coefficient calculations

Thanks!

Any idea when it might be included (rough time estimate)?

Regards,

Mathieu

sensitivity coefficient calculations

Dear Jaakko, I was wondering if the iterated fission probability methods implemented by Manuele Aufiero in his version of SERPENT have been propagated into the generic version of SERPENT2. I couldn't find anything about it on the forum. If it is the case, could you tell me from which version and wha...

Re: serpent in SGE queuing system

Dear all, I m using SERPENT-v2 on a cluster where the ressources are handled by a SGE queuing system. I m running SERPENT-v2 within some scripts driving branch calculations, the end goal being the generation of few group cross sections. Is there an easy way to obtain either from SERPENT-v2 or from t...

Re: ICSBEP Benchmarks

Ville, Jaakko,

Good to know. I will generate inputs for Flattop and ZPR6/10 ZPR 9/34 (benchmark version in ICSBEP).

If you are interested, I ll make them available to you (and whoever may be interested) then.

Thanks!

ICSBEP Benchmarks

Dear all,
I know that SERPENT is not designed to perform criticality calculation but has SERPENT ever be tested against the ICSBEP benchmark cases?
If so, are the SERPENT inputs publicly available somewhere? (I'd like to avoid reinventing the wheel :) ).

Let me know,

Best,

Mathieu

Restart with SERPENT2

Dear all, in a previous post: http://ttuki.vtt.fi/serpent/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1731&p=3941&hilit=restart&sid=cbe483abcbd23eb1e58b456c50e05c74&sid=cbe483abcbd23eb1e58b456c50e05c74#p3941 it was said that some restart capability would be possible in SERPENT2. Is such capability already available? if so...

Units for run statistics

Dear all,

According to the units section of the manual, the time is expressed in seconds.

However when looking at the run statistics section of the output, it seems that those quantities are given in minutes.

Maybe this should be mentioned in the manual.

Best,

Mathieu

Isotopic wise reaction rates

Dear all, I have been trying to extract from SERPENT the main reaction rates (capture, fission, n2n and production) per isotope for a typical PWR pincell(The fuel is made of a mix of U234, 235 and 238) though detectors. As suggested in http://ttuki.vtt.fi/serpent/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=139&sid=eea8869...

Re: Reproducing runs

Tuomas,

Thanks for the clarification on the random number serie.
As for the calculation, I had used a different machine...I m currently running the case on the same machine. I ll let you know how it turns out.

Thanks again,

Mathieu
