Re: Aspect ratio in the VVER example geometry plot

Thank you Jaakko. That was easy.

Just for the record, changing the height/width ratio to 0.866 makes the image look correct:

Code: Select all

% --- Geometry and mesh plots:

plot 3 500 433
mesh 3 500 433

Aspect ratio in the VVER example geometry plot

The aspect ratio of the geometry plot for the VVER hex example doesn't look quite right. The circular fuel pins look like ovals. See http://virtual.vtt.fi/virtual/montecarlo/examples/VVER/vver_geom1.png or attached, where I've added a circle at the center pin for comparison. I've tried a number of v...

Re: Automatic division of depletion zones

Hello Jaakko,

Thank you for the suggestion. The method you described works in my case. The first material name printed after "Sampling initial source..." agrees with what I was guessing it was.

Thank you for your help.

Re: Automatic division of depletion zones

I'd like to follow up on Cole's question. I'm trying to extract the number densities for a particular ring in a particular fuel pin. Do you have any more advice on how I can determine how the automatic material names are defined? I guess if all else fails I can define a new material for only that pi...

Re: ENDFB/7.1 library

Just as an update, the folks at NNDC are aware of this. Toshihiko Kawano at LANL is working on resolving the issue.

See the issue tracker on the NNDC website:

Re: ENDFB/7.1 library

I sent the following email to the address listed on the ENDF website, so we'll see what they have to say. Hello, Over at the Serpent Monte Carlo forum [1], we are discussing some difficulties with the ENDF/B-7.1 fission yields for Pu-239. Serpent performs a sanity check for each fission product that...

Re: ENDFB/7.1 library

I just ran into this problem myself. This comment appears on the ENDF/B-VII.1 website [1]: Neutron fission yields were reevaluated for 239Pu (fast and 14 MeV) by Los Alamos; others were taken over from ENDF/B-VII.0=ENDF/B-VI.8, having been supplied by LANL. So the only change in FYs from E7.0 to E7....
