Re: Using Input Macroscopic Cross Section Libraries

Okay, that is what I thought, but it doesn't hurt to check!
Thanks Ana and Jaakko.

Using Input Macroscopic Cross Section Libraries

Serpent users and developers

I was wondering if it was possible to use a macroscopic cross section library as an input in a Serpent input?
So basically, instead of using the ACELIBS, is it possible to provide a path to a macroscopic library? If so, is there a specific format?

Thanks !

Re: S(a,b) ENDF/BVII.1

Serpent Developers, Thank you, Jaakko, for the update. A follow-up though: Using the (useful) information found in this thread: https://ttuki.vtt.fi/serpent/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=3452&p=10974&hilit=thermal+scattering#p10974 I hooked up ENDF/B.VIII.0 with the thermal scattering data from ENDF/B-VII.0....

Re: Large volume of water

Hello Serpent users, The issue was resolved. To make Serpent print the actual volume of the material in the case of "filler" materials (by "filler", I mean a material that is occupying the outside universe), in that case Water , the volume of the material actually needs to be specified. For instance...

Re: Flux Spectrum Calculation

Hello, I am having similar issues as Yousef, I am little confused on what I am obtaining from the detectors. I am trying to compare the flux with another code, for a thermal reactor. I just need the total neutron flux per unit lethargy averaged over my system . I am so far looking only at one assemb...

Reflective Boundary Conditions on selected hexagonal faces

Hello ! If I understood well in the Manual, Serpent has three types of Boundary Condtions (BC) available: - Infinite 2D; - Radially infinite and Axially finite 3D; - 3D infinite. More practically, It is possible to chose x, y or z as symmetry axis. How does it apply to hexagonal geometries ? I was w...

Thermal Scattering For Graphite - grph.17t vs grph.27t

Hi ! I am trying to compare two different thermal scattering libraries for graphite. My entry for the thermal scattering library grph.17t is: mat porous_c sum vol 118.08 tmp 1200 moder graphite_1200 6000 rgb 240 255 240 6000.83c 5.2646E-02 % C therm graphite_1200 grph.17t This configuration works co...
