Re: energy deposition (dr -80 void)

Oh, nevermind. It works. I just had a material name instead of "void" when I got the above error. Using "void" with version 2.1.31 works. Thank you!

Re: energy deposition (dr -80 void)

I installed version 2.1.31 so that Serpent now shows this when it runs: - Version 2.1.31 (May 16, 2019) -- Contact: serpent@vtt.fi But now I get a "not found" error instead of a "not allowed" error. Do I need to install (or point toward) some extra data libraries? Input error in parameter "det" on l...

energy deposition (dr -80 void)

I am using Serpent 2.1.30. My tallies using "dr -8 void" work great: det axialPowerFiss dl 101 dr -8 void However, when I use "dr -80" instead of "dr -8" in exactly the same tally, I get this error: MT -80 not allowed in response function What's going on? I'm just finding the MT values here: http://...

Re: The total neutron source output?

Jaakko - Thank you for your answer on the photons/gammas.

With respect to neutron sources, they arise from more than spontaneous fission (SF). They also arise from decay of fission products - some delayed neutrons are very delayed. Will Serpent compute these neutron sources?

Thanks,
Mark

Re: Bugs in update 2.1.30

Has there been a new stable release yet, or are the source code fixes listed in this thread still required?

Neutron doses

Hi. I see how to make photon dose calculations here: http://serpent.vtt.fi/mediawiki/index.php/ENDF_reaction_MT%27s_and_macroscopic_reaction_numbers#cite_note-1 However, I see nothing for neutron doses? Are these built into Serpent, or must we input our own flux-to-dose conversion tables? I see that...

Re: 82s error in moder card with restart files

I am using this Version 2.1.29 (June 12, 2017).

Will a more recent version work?

Re: Control rod motion branches

Yes, I have been using "set rfw" and "set rfr" to run Serpent separately at each burnup step.

82s error in moder card with restart files

Hello, world! While trying to write Serpent restart files, I get the error below. There is no "82s" anywhere in my .mater file or anywhere else that I can see. However, when I comment out all the "moder" cards in my .mater file, the restart files read and write just fine. Unfortunately, I believe th...

Re: Control rod motion branches

Yes, that answers my question. Thanks!

In order to accomplish what I want, I'll just write a script to restart Serpent at each burnup step.
