Re: Weight windows in Gamma transport

I've had somewhat good experience with Serpent's weight window capabilites, especially the adaptive ww mesh. Here is an example input that pretty much shows the power of adaptive ww mesh. The case is a simple concrete labyrinth with a point Co-60 source. Running with only 1 core this input is able t...

Gamma source from neutron activation using df

Hello, is there any way to use df in neutron calculation and then use those points in space as source points for a separate gamma calculation? This way I could get proper distribution of "activation" I tried the following detector to score capture points det 1 n dr -2 steel df hits 1 And this on the...

Re: External photon source

You could make a physical collimator into your geometry. Have an isotropic source and a lead collimator shaped into a cone. It should even make the calculations more realistic as you would need a real collimator anyway for calibrating a real detector.

Re: Gamma detectors and flux to dose

Sorry to ask this silly question but can you tell me how to plot from the output(from input_det0.m) in the form of pulse height spectrum and which cross section should be used in the case of germanium detector, .70c or .05p for pulse height spectrum calculation. Thank You For example with an octave...

Re: Radioactive decay source

Hello, I am having trouble getting decay source working when I am predefining the materials. If I use rfw/rfr from a burn calculation then it does work but not with predefined materials my code for a really simple case just to test decay source: surf s1 cyl 0 0 10 -10 10 surf s2 cube 0 0 0 20 surf s...

2.1.30 Gamma transport memory allocation problem

I was trying to run the Simple example (2.1.24) for gamma transport to get myself familiarized with photon transport. I was running it with 2.1.30 version and it gave me a Fatal error in function Mem "Memory allocation failed (calloc, 4675910279312179231, 8, 75.16)" However the same example code wor...
