Invalid Universe Name?

I've recently had to switch from one computing system to another and I'm running into an odd error. The original system is running version 2.1.31 and the new one is running 2.1.23. My model, which ran fine on the first, is now giving me the following error: Input error in parameter "trans" on line 2...

Re: Photonuclear data

I'll have to go back and rethink things a bit, then. Essentially, what I'm trying to do is predict the irradiation of Np-237. The reaction we want is a neutron capture followed by beta decay into Pu-238. The thing I don't think we're accurately capturing right now is a (gamma,n) that will, down seve...

Re: Photonuclear data

-No errors. I'm getting a distribution of isotopes in my target approximately (within ~1%) of the results I get with just a neutron problem. In the file that saves what would show up in the terminal if I was running Serpent directly (I'm on a cluster with a submission system), the photon system give...

Re: Photonuclear data

Me again! I've been able to do everything I need to with the cross sections, I think - NJOY created the full library I need and I was able to create a script to correctly format the .xsdir file so that it could be used to generate an .xsdata file. All of that seems fine, my cross sections are listed...

Re: Photonuclear data

I've hit one more snag and I can't see where the difference is between what I'm trying to do and what I got to work with mcplib63 and mcplib84. I'm using data from https://tendl.web.psi.ch/tendl_2019/tar.html because I care about a Np237(gamma,n) reaction. The set that's already processed into ace f...

Re: Photonuclear data

You're right! I can't believe I missed that, I just freaked out at the errors. That also tells me that I do need the added cross-sections from NJOY, but I think I know how to add them. Thank you so much!

Re: Photonuclear data

Thank you again for being so, so helpful with this. I keep ending up in dead ends because I don't have a good enough understanding of this to troubleshoot very effectively. Are there files required for the conversion script to work other than the three updated files? I've tried every combination of ...

Re: Photonuclear data

Thanks so much - this has definitely been helpful. I need a bit of clarification on using xsdirconvert.pl, though. 1. When I add the absolute path of the directory, is that to the first line of the perl file? (i.e. after the #!/usr/bin/perl line) 2. Am I running it on both mcnplib84 and mcnplib63, w...

Photonuclear data

I know this should be simple, but I've been running into a wall - how do I add the photon data listed in the manual (http://serpent.vtt.fi/mediawiki/index.php/Input_syntax_manual#set_pdatadir)? I do not have access to the directory with the regular data libraries, but I included the entire path for ...
