Re: Disperser routine fails / disperser as a batch job

Yes, I agree. For whatever reason, the prompted inputs seem to work just fine now. I was also able to put together a command line for a batch job in case anyone reading this is interested: sss2 -disperse << EOF 4 4.13 0 4.356 2.64 0.5 0.0141 c dist.inp y 0.01 0.01 EOF This works with both PBS and Sl...

Re: Disperser routine fails / disperser as a batch job

It only freezes during geometry input, and initialization with the grow-and-shake option does seem to take longer than without. Is the grow-and-shake option recommended for some cases? I've only been using the disperse routine interactively in the terminal, but it takes too long with my target packi...

Re: Disperser routine fails / disperser as a batch job

I have not checked the CPU or memory usage because when it fails, it fails during the prompted input steps and no error code is given. When the disperse routine succeeds, each prompt is displayed immediately after the previous input is provided. Do you think memory could be an issue during the input...

Re: Disperser routine fails / disperser as a batch job

When the disperser stops working, it just freezes before asking for the next expected input. I'm using 2.1.32.
Can the disperser be run in serial from a batch script though?

Disperser routine fails / disperser as a batch job

Hi all, I'm creating distribution files with the disperse utility and have observed it stop suddenly while I'm providing the input values. Sometimes this happens 9/10 times in one day, other days it doesn't happen at all. Would there be a possible reason for this? Also, can the disperser be parallel...

Re: Fatal error in function SampleENDFLaw

Thank you for the suggestions. I will try it out. I downloaded my data from the ACE page of LANL (https://nucleardata.lanl.gov/ACE/index.html) and converted it to Serpent format with the Perl script as described in the manual. No other processing is performed. The model that returns errors is slight...

Fatal error in function SampleENDFLaw

Hello all, I get a seemingly random error during a simulation: Fatal error in function SampleENDFLaw: b = -2.146172E-06 (2) Simulation aborted. This particular error happened at about 3/4 of the way through 1000 active cycles and I have not encountered it with other simulations that use the same mod...

Re: Fatal Error in function InSuperCell

Thanks for the info, I did confirm Serpent was recompiled. The error was in my lattice, where a few pins were called twice, and it was impossible to tell that from plotting. I'm guessing the error comes from a nest being specified for GC generation but not actually included in the model. Thanks agai...

Re: Fatal Error in function InSuperCell

I asked my IT to put in the changes you suggested earlier from the other thread, but the error still persists. Does Serpent need recompiling or any other steps after the changes are made? I can try to confirm the steps they took. The error only happens when I have GC generation active for more than ...

Re: Fatal Error in function InSuperCell

Hello all, I get a similar error from using more than ~150 entries in the GCU card with 2.1.32: Fatal error in function Error File name not set Simulation aborted. My model has nested pins and cells in a lattice that then fills a cell in the root universe. Should I resort to defining every region ex...
