Re: Lost Particles in Geometry

Alright, with the code changes, the cases failed with the following error which is the same as before: ***** Fri Feb 19 18:11:29 2016 (seed = 1455659194, MPI task = 0, OMP thread = 17) Fatal error in function AziRot: Invalid value -NAN of parameter "final direction cosines" NOTE: This value check wa...

Re: Lost Particles in Geometry

None of the DEBUG cases have crashed yet - now that we're trying to obverse the event, it doesn't happen. However, in an alternate simulation, with the same geometry, I got a little bit more information from the crash: ***** Fri Feb 19 11:10:09 2016 (seed = 1455903186) Warning message from function ...

Re: Unexpected Behavior of Axial Power Distribution

Yousef, If I recall correctly, the first index of the axial distribution is the pin number. In the attached file, you only show pin 1 and partial of pin 2. If I add up all of the axial nodes, then I get a power equal to the power in lvl0 for pin 1. It is interesting that the distribution is flat, ho...

Re: Lost Particles in Geometry

Hi Jaakko, I made the changes, but the following functions: elasticscattering.c levelscattering.c targetvelocity.c did not have "mu" defined, so I commented them out for now. I'm not sure if just adding a static "double mu" would cause any issues. This is a neutron transport problem and I just put t...

Re: Lost Particles in Geometry

Results with DEBUG mode: ***** Fri Feb 12 05:18:47 2016 (seed = 1455229631, MPI task = 0, OMP thread = 14) Fatal error in function AziRot: Invalid value -NAN of parameter "final direction cosines" NOTE: This value check was performed because the code was compiled in the debug mode and it may or may ...

Re: Lost Particles in Geometry

Hi Ville and Jaako, Thank you for the reply. The boundary condition is a black condition and this is a normal, steady-state criticality simulation. I do have a run going with -DDEBUG, but I'm running with 1.5e9 histories, trying to converge reaction rates on a spatial mesh. So, that will take some t...

Re: Irregular 3D geometries (CAD, etc.)

Hi, then multiple to find the temperature in Kelvin for OpenFoam It's not that simple to find the temperature - you have to perform a heat transfer calculation. That's where the mesh comes into play and OpenFOAM is a nice means to do your continuum mechanics coupling. I was wondering how you can fin...

Lost Particles in Geometry

Hello, I am hoping to get some when with this cryptic geometry error: Warning message from function MoveST: Possible overlap at (-NAN, -NAN, -NAN) ***** Mon Feb 1 13:01:52 2016 (seed = 1454357279, MPI task = 0, OMP thread = 18) Tracking error: material pointer lost (x,y,z) = -NAN -NAN -NAN (u,v,w) =...

Re: decay isotopes burnup never included?

what does the extra zero mean?
It allows you to specify the metastable states. Zero means the ground state.

I think the general problem then is how your specify the inventory. Looks like you found that thread. :-)

Re: decay isotopes burnup never included?

Hi Peter, I recall this happening to me before. I don't recall what is it, but there might be a few things to check in the preliminary: Did you set (this is my hunch): set declib "/dir/to/sss_endfb7.dec" set nfylib "/dir/to/sss_endfb7.nfy" Have you confirmed that there are fissions occurring within ...
