Re: Nested Geometries...

Hi Ville, Thank you for the response. I apologize for not being clearer in the second post. The error that received was because I had a material in a detector which was not used in universe 0. The material, however, was defined in a cell - but that cell is also not part of the geometry that makes up...

Control Rod Banks

Hello, I am trying to specify various banks of control rod within a lattice. I was thinking about doing this by defining a lattice of fuel assembles, with voided regions. Then, one by one, I can insert control rods into these locations - but I have to do so manually. This works out, but I wanted som...

Re: Nest Geometries...

The error is associated with a material that was not used in the model that was in a detector.

Nested Geometries...

Hello, I am getting this error: ***** Tue Jul 28 09:16:45 2015 (seed = 1438100204, MPI task = 0, OMP thread = 0) Fatal error in function MaterialVolumes: Cell nst11c1 not included in volume calculation Simulation aborted. when I attempt to plot a geometry to check it. I'm wondering if this error is ...

Are there any plans to extend the "sd" option for directional biasing at a range of solid angles?

Calculate Volumes of Cells

Hello, An option to computer the cell volumes similar to Serpent 1's: -checkvolumes would be excellent for verification of inputs and dimensions. This would also be helpful for printing out the interface volumes before had, too, for post-processing. I currently have a separate binary that I use wher...

Re: Revised universe symmetry card

Hello,

You can define 1/8th symmetry by using the rotation feature as mentioned in this thread up above. Something like this:

Code: Select all

set usym 0 3 3 0.0 0.0 45 90

Re: Memory allocation failed

Hello Domenico, What you are doing makes sense and is very much within the capabilities of Serpent 2. If you are able to run the same case without MPI, I believe the issue lies within the MPI implementation within Serpent 2 - it can be buggy sometimes. In essense, what you would expect is the memory...

Re: Memory allocation failed

Hello Domenico: How many burnable cells are in your problem? Have you tried running without MPI on just one node? I have often run into some issues with MPI on single and distributed nodes. This might be the reason that Serpent can't predict the memory requirements prior to allocation (which is typi...

Re: Lost particle with Multiphysics Interface

Oh, interesting. I suppose I got really lucky. Some of my cases have even more volume of zero density and I managed 50,000 simulations without a failure. (I'm using DAKOTA to optimize some turbulence models just to explain why there's a ridiculous number of simulations.) That would be a great test. ...
