Doppler

Hi, simple question: does serpent treat the unresolved resonances while performing the broadening of the cross sections? While calculating the Doppler coefficient (or the Doppler constant) for a molten salt fast reactor, I noticed an appreciable difference between: - The ANA_K calculated with cross ...

Re: PROMPT LIFETIME

thank you Jaakko! It seems that when few group cross sections are requested for universe 0 and other univ (set gcu 0 20 30 ...), the IMPL_PROMPT_LIFETIME is always 0.0000 for any idx (I am missing something?) Anyway, I've run again some full core case and IMP_ seems close to ANA_ lifetime. In the in...

PROMPT LIFETIME

Hi, we performed a comparison between serpent and the deterministic code ERANOS/ECCO. The cases are related to full core calculation of a molten salt fast reactor, with different fuel composition. All the main parameters resulted in a very good agreement (K,beta_eff,radial and axial flux distributio...

Re: how to visualize the .m file with octave?

Ciao Astrid, if you just want to "visualize" the *_res.m you don need octave. Just open the file with a text editor (e.g., gedit or kile). If you want to use octave, give bwr_res with returnkey as you did. Then you can handle all the variables like normal octave (or matlab) variables. For example if...

Ures mode 2

Dear all, I found a strange behavior of serpent related to ures mode 2 (on the fly). With reference to the following input (useless things are omitted), The sss run terminate with the following error: Fatal error in function NextCollision: Total xs exceeds majorant (E = 1.010225E-01, f = 2.459170E-0...
