Branch input for universe transformations

Hi all, I am trying to generate some group constants as a function of control rod position. Here is my input line: branch rod1 tra CR1 U 5.08 5.08 161.9055 My universe to translate is CR1, I use "U" to indicate a universe transformation, like the wiki says, and then follow by the (x,y,z) changes. Fo...

Re: Particle tracking not stopped as it hits black boundary?

For any who experience this issue in the future, it seems that making the control rods into their own universes, and then filling the guide tube with that universe did the trick. It can be seen in the git repo.

Particle tracking not stopped as it hits black boundary?

Hi all, I am trying to model the molten salt reactor experiment. The goal here is to generate group constants with no homogenization for a diffusion code, so my fuel and moderator materials exist in separate, infinite universes. It seems that rarely, a particle is not stopping at a black boundary, l...

[reprocessing] Nonconservation of mass in type 2 flows

Hi all, Recently, some simulations of mine have been coming up with less mass bled off from molten salt reactor refueling that what was added. Here, I think this is a pair of input files that pinpoints the issue. First off, here is the problem: A godiva sphere is reflected by water. Above it is a ta...

Re: [reprocessing] Issue with type 2 flows

Hi Jaakko, It looks like you were right! Dr. Chvala and I figured it out! Just add this line: rr = rr * RDB[mat1 + MATERIAL_VOLUME] * RDB[mat1 + MATERIAL_ADENS]; above the if blocks we've been discussing, then leaving everything within the if blocks undisturbed. This then passes all of our tests! He...

Re: [reprocessing] Issue with type 2 flows

Ah, well, originally, I meant that the flows appeared to be too low by that factor, so multiplying should have done the trick rather than dividing. Oddly enough, the results look the same upon trying that. Maybe I'm missing something as well.

Re: [reprocessing] Issue with type 2 flows

This was the case when I had made the material volumes different. I'll be sure to update you when I get the chance to test the above.

update:

changing these lines didn't seem to make a difference, interestingly enough.

Re: [reprocessing] Issue with type 2 flows

OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION:

It seems like the type 2 flows are too low by a factor of:

1 / <sink material volume> / <source material ADENS>

Try it for yourself! Looking in the source code now!
