Re: Radioactive decay source

Is it possible to use "negative" compositions (by mass) instead of isotopic in this type of source definitions?

Re: Increasing scores in optically thin materials

Thanks,
But I intend to do a burnup calculation with steps of the fissile coating to get the nuclide inventory development over time, how could such a detector be used in this case?

Increasing scores in optically thin materials

I'm performing a depletion calculation on a fission chamber in a reactor model. The fission chamber has a very thin fissile coating. Is it possible to perform some type of variance reduction to get neutrons interacting in the coating? I already know that woodcock method is a bit problematic in this ...

thermal scattering data beryllium

I would like to use thermal scattering data for beryllium in a low temperature reactor. In MCNP, the input card is M1 4009 1 MT1 be.01t How can I achieve something similar in Serpent? I appreciate your help, having some trouble understanding the sss.xsdata file :) Also, temperature interpolation in ...

Re: xsdirconvert.pl issues

No I didnt edit it. The first line in the xsdir file is empty. Should I edit it?

edit: I entered the folder path of the xsdir file on the first line in the xsdir file and the converter now works. In case i missed it: It doesnt say that clearly in the installation instructions?

best regards,
Peter

Re: xsdirconvert.pl issues

Hi I have the same issue. How do I resolve this? First line in xsdir file is blank I tried : ./xsdirconvert.pl xsdir_mcnp6.1 > sss_xsdir I also tried ./xsdirconvert.pl xsdir > sss_xsdir And all I get in the terminal is: *snip* . . . 74186.24h: ACE file "/xdata/la150h" does not exist. 80196.24h: ACE ...

Re: Two new methods for choosing inventory nuclides

I have a suggestion, Would it be possible to make a flag so that multiple dep.m files / extra matlab arrays are created if one would like to use set inventory all at the same time as set inventory longterm That way one could run a simulation were both "all" nuclides are printed while "longterm" nucl...

Re: Two new methods for choosing inventory nuclides

This feature of Serpent is superb!

Has any progress or changes been made regarding inventory capabilities (since Tuomas started the thread? ) :)

best regards,

Re: Radiotoxicity coefficients

Hi! I'm currently working with stuff related to the file you mention. The file is present on the current version of the EASY 2010 package which can be ordered through oecd-nea. I believe it is used by the FISPACT code which is part of the EASY 2010 package (activation calculations etc..) so the hard...

Units (activity etc.) in the _dep.m txt file?

With the option:
set inventory all

I get some very attractive output in the dep.m file.

What are the units of:
TOT_H
TOT_ING_TOX
TOT_INH_TOX
TOT_SF
TOT_MDENS (g/cm3 ? relative?)

Thank you for Serpent 2.. its really awesome!
