At least you are using a lot of outside definitions in other universes than the root universe (0). You should construct all other universes than the root universe (0) to be infinite, and the outside keyword should be only used in cells belonging to the root universe (0)

You can create the pin lattice normally, and then have for example pins containing only coolant in the positions where a water rod would be. I see that you have the set mcvol in your input deck. The material Z_7 seems to have a very small volume in your pin definition, and I'm guessing that it might be getting zero scores during the mvol calculation. I'd suggest you run the -checkvolumes run option separately to see that the volumes are ...

Both methodologies seem to be usable. Of course, as you are already aware of, you should calculate the ADFs in other than the reflective single assembly cases with the PARCS model. Could you elaborate the methodology? It is not so clear what you mean with the fullcore and two-step methodologies here, and how do you use the TRC and ADF and in which program. Also what group constants do you use? INF, TRC, B1 (and which option of the B1 method)?

Note that the energy grid on the Serpent wiki page is defined in units of MeV. The range for ECCO-1968 is from almost 20 MeV to almost 1E-11 MeV.

Interesting results. It seems that you have used ENDF/B-VIII.0 libraries? I tried replicating this behavior with ENDF/B-VII.1 libraries, but the results show nice smooth behavior. Did you use some publicly available ACE data?
