Re: Burnup calculation bug in 1.1.13

Sorry... forgot to mention these. No MPI and probability table treatment as default, i.e. off (according to the manual).

Burnup calculation bug in 1.1.13

Hello, I ran across a weird bug in the burnup calculation of Serpent 1.1.13. If a problem geometry contains burnable materials in more than one temperature, burnup calculation results in incorrect results (too small by a factor up to 10^25) for at least all plutonium isotopes in all but one of the t...

Re: Heat deposit in non-fissile materials

The cross section libraries of Serpent include the (total) heating numbers that are needed in the calculation of heat deposit in non-fissile materials. As Ed mentioned, also the damage energy production values are available. However, these values cannot be - yet - applied in Serpent, because of a fe...

Re: .ACE file generation using newfor=0

Hi! I quess (NJOY documentation is a bit lacking at this point) that the newfor ("new format") parameter of NJOY tells whether to use the old or new angular distribution presentation in the resulting ACE files. The old presentation is based on 32 equi-probable bins while the new, more rigorous, pres...

Memory limitation: 16 GB

Hi! I noticed an undocumented property concerning memory allocation and pointers in Serpent. As I made some Serpent calculations that required huge amounts of memory (because of multiple temperatures appearing in problem geometry) Serpent suddenly crashed and gave an error message: "ReallocMem: Memo...
