Error SetDirectPointers

Postby Henriette H » Wed May 11, 2016 4:09 pm

Hi,

I'm tried to run a Burn Up- calculation with Serpent 2.1.26, it fails and the error message was:
"Fatal error in function SetDirectPointers:

Indexing error

Simulation aborted."

I don't know what this error means. But the Input-file is working in Serpent 1.1.19.

Thank you for your help.

Could you send me the input file by e-mail?

This problem is like my arch-nemesis that keeps reappearing even I thought it was already dealt with!

Basically what happens is that Serpent gets confused if the same isotope is involved in a burnable material both in the initial composition and as a fission product, but also in one of the non-burnable materials associated with thermal scattering data.

In this case the culprit is 1001.03c. I'll try to figure out a solution to this, but a quick fix is to use another isotope identifier for hydrogen in water. I see you are already using data from an MCNP library, so try replacing 1001.03c with 1001.60c (or similar) in materials water and tube.
