Jeff 3.2 Library

Post by ianyounker » Thu Dec 04, 2014 11:49 pm

I am interested in Ytterbium (Yb) cross section data. To the best of my knowledge the libraries distributed with Serpent 1.1.17 (endf7, jeff2.2, jeff3.1, and jeff3.1.1) do not contain Yb xs data. I have found Yb data in jeff 3.2. Does a distribution of jeff 3.2 for Serpent users exist? If so, how do I go about getting the necessary libraries/files for user in Serpent 1.1.17?

Thanks
Ian

JEFF-3.2 cross section data in ACE format is available at the OECD/NEA Data Bank:

Thanks for the information. How do I prepare these files for use with Serpent 1.1.17? Is there a simple process to follow to create the xs, decay, and yield files/libraries necessary?

Thanks
Ian

As with the libraries provided with the Serpent installation package, you need to convert the MCNP format xsdir file to Serpent format using the xsdirconvert.pl script. Radioactive decay and fission yield files are usable as is.
