Warning messages cross sections

Post by byba90 » Tue Jan 16, 2018 12:52 pm

Dear users,

in the version 2.1.29, I obtained the following warnings for different types of simulations (burnup, criticality from restart file):

Code: Select all

***** Mon Jan 15 14:09:36 2018 (seed = 1516021724, MPI task = 0)
Warning message from function ProcessNuclides:

Minimum photon cross section energy 1.000000E+37 MeV is
above the energy grid minimum 1.000000E-03 MeV.
The energy grid minimum is set to 1.000000E+37 MeV.
Possible changes in energy cutoff cards (warned if any).

***** Mon Jan 15 14:09:36 2018 (seed = 1516021724, MPI task = 0)
Warning message from function ProcessNuclides:

Photon energy cutoff 1.000000E-03 MeV is changed to 1.000000E+37."

Code: Select all

***** Warning: 30064.03c has no non-zero heat production xs
Nuclide 30064.03c -- zinc 64 at 611K (Zn-64)

Warning message from function ProcessXSData:
984 negative xs points in data (42095.03c mt 301)
Nuclide 42095.03c -- molybdenum 95 at 611K (Mo-95)

***** Warning: Delayed neutron data discarded for 92239.03c (mismatch in groups)
Nuclide 92239.03c -- uranium 239 at 611K (U-239)

***** Warning: Delayed neutron data discarded for 92240.03c (mismatch in groups)
Nuclide 92240.03c -- uranium 240 at 611K (U-240)

***** Warning: Delayed neutron data discarded for 92241.03c (mismatch in groups)
Nuclide 92241.03c -- uranium 241 at 611K (U-241)

In both cases, I used JEFF-3.1.1. How does the issues affect my simulations? How can I fix the problem, please?
Thank you for your time.
Regards,

Christian

The first warning message is displayed when the minimum energy in the photon cross section data is above the photon cutoff energy. In your case, you are not running a photon transport simulation so you can ignore this message. In the next Serpent version, this message will be displayed only if photon transport mode is used.
