Serpent GUI

Post by gtardini » Thu Mar 11, 2021 12:46 pm

Dear Serpent users,
suited for the newly released version 2.32 I developed a python-based Graphic User Interface which basically wraps the code and some of its most used peripherals. It binds (and therefore requires) the powerful serpentTools package, described in this forum at viewforum.php?f=30
Otherwise it has no strong requirements, it uses pretty standard python/scipy/matplotlib stuff.

1) Running any line-scripts in a GUI-entry field
2) Running Serpent (with variable number of MC particles)
3) Interactive plot of the geometry, with horizontal section (user defined height) + side section (user defined angle)
4) Plotting mesh figures (png)
5) Plotting track figures (png)
6) Plotting cross-sections, using serpentTools
7) Plotting detector spectra, using serpentTools

Please find some documentation here
https://www2.ipp.mpg.de/~git/serpent2/serp_gui.html
The github repository is private, so following that link won't work for the time being.
If there is some interest, I might record a short video on how to run it, but perhaps the figures in the docu-webpage are enough.
