Photo-nuclear reactions

Post by nico » Mon Nov 23, 2020 10:44 am

Dear Serpent developers,
I would like to know if the current version (2.1.31) is able to model also the photo-nuclear reactions.
I read the latest papers by Toni Kaltiaisenaho (M&C 2019 and Computer Physics Communications 2020) but I did not understand if the new models described there (including photo-nuclear physics) are currently available or not.
If this is the case, do I only need to process the .00u ACE files with NJOY and add them to the .xsdata file? How about the "set acelib" card?

Thank you so much

Unfortunately photo-nuclear reactions are not included in 2.1.31 or the main development branch.

Good Day!
Dear Serpent Developers:

what is the status of photo-nuclear option in version 2.1.32 (released Feb. 2021)?

[In modeling reactors with D2O, Be, BeO, it is beneficial to have this option on/off in coupled transport applications (n + gamma). I modeling gamma transport in medical physics applications, it is beneficial to turn it on and got the neutron flux etc. due to the photonuclear reactions. New photo-nuclear data library is released recently (August 2020) by IAEA, ; etc. ]
