Determined cells with surfaces and other cells?

Post by Nico TuD » Fri May 27, 2016 2:17 pm

To determined a cell shape in Serpent it is defined to use surfaces (manual page 25 point 3.3.1). Is it possible use also other cells (to exclude space) in combination with surfaces to determined a cell shape? If yes, how is the syntax in the cell card? I think in MCNP this way will work.

Greetings, Nico

This is possible in Serpent 2 but not in Serpent 1. The syntax is the same as in MCNP (i.e. using '#').

Thanks al loot for your answer.
I tried to define cells with “#” but it does not work (Serpent 2.1.24).
Perhaps you show me here a short example to get sure, that I have the right syntax in the use with “#”.

Actually you need version 2.1.25 or higher. The syntax is exactly the same as in MCNP.
