Serpent2 and Elmer: Is it time for a shotgun wedding?

I have been training myself on the use of the Elmer Finite Element package, which is an open source multi physical simulation software mainly developed by CSC - IT Center for Science (CSC). I have been impressed with its fluid and heat transfer capabilities. It is an alternative to OpenFoam, which is based on the finite volume method. Has anyone looked at the possibility of enabling these two packages to work with each other?

Since both VTT and CSC are both Finnish institutions, I am sure someone has previously considered this possibility.

Bruce

PS.

For those not in the US, "shotgun wedding" refers to a wedding where the hesitant groom is encouraged to attend his own wedding, usually by the brides father, who is carrying a shotgun for the encouragement.
