fast component in Infinite Lattice Grain Model

Post by tntfnc3 » Fri Jun 12, 2015 12:36 pm

Hi,

I am doing some calculation with the HTGR Depletion Benchmark Infinite Lattice Grain Model and it seems that the fast energy component is higher than the thermal one, is that normal for this kind of reactor?

Do you mean fast component of flux? Flux is defined as neutron density multiplied by speed, so fast flux can be higher than thermal flux even if the density of thermal neutrons is much higher.
